Vilas Avenue is an independent literary journal founded in 2014. We aim to publish well-crafted poetry at the intersection of language & movement. Our poetry reading period for Issue #8 (unthemed/open call) is January 1st, 2026 through March 1st, 2026. There is no fee to submit. We are unable to provide author payment at this time. Please submit 1-3 poems using our submission form by March 1st, 2026 (submission form opens in a new tab).

You’ll hear back on the status of your submission within 2-4 months of the opening of our reading period, if not much sooner. Your own previously unpublished works only, please. Please do not send AI-generated or AI-revised work. Simultaneous submissions are OK, but please write to let us know if someone else snags your work first.
